"Time is the most undefinable yet paradoxical of things; the past is gone, the future is not come, and the present becomes the past even while we attempt to define it, and, like the flash of lightning, at once exist and expires" - Charles Caleb Colton

So much has been happening lately that I don't quite know where to start.
For one thing, I have officially been retained :) So all that hard work paid off in the end.
Work is getting busier by the day. I'm just waiting for the point where I have enough exposure to be able to do the work at half the speed I am doing it now :P
Something nice also happened when I came into work on Tuesday. There was a cranberry shortcake on my desk. I assumed it was from my buddy cause there was once she left some chocolates on my desk for me. But when I thanked her I later found out that she had nothing to do with it...oops...oh well..still don't know who is it from, but thank you to whoever you are hehe
I guess that is all from me. I will end with a an e-mail from one of my colleagues that was able to motivate me in doing my work when I was stuck in the office at night working on a case...
"A litigator must always pick sides
Remember, you do not pick the side you think will win
You pick a side and then make sure you win"

Well, believe it!
I got a comment today that sent me through the roof! Someone commented
"I find it really hard to believe that your are really THAT swamped that you can only eat lunch like once a week"
WTF
I have been sleeping at 3am the past few days and working through the weekend to clear my work and someone has the audacity to suggest that I am skipping lunch for the fun of it?? Fine, he did say that it is clear that I am being overloaded. But in my defence, as a pupil/trainee who is technically at the bottom of the food chain do I have much say or control in the amount of work I get? It's not like I purposely do this to myself. When some people come to me asking me to work on a matter, I do inform them of my limited capacity as I already have a lot on my plate But if they insist on it and still ask me to squeeze one more matter, how do I say no? By hook or by crook I have to get it done.
Today I also got a comment from one of the associate that my work is a bit not up to my usual standard. When I apologized even he acknowledged that he understands that I am swamped and thus not able to do a thorough check.
So in my response to my level of work being unbelievable, I say you better believe it!

.: Feel :.
Come on hold my hand
I wanna contact the living
Not sure I understand
This road I've been given
I sit and talk to God
And he just laughs at my plans
My head speaks a language
I don't understand
I just wanna feel real love
Feel the home that I live in
'Cause I got too much life
Running through my veins, going to waste
I don't wanna die
But I ain't keen on living either
Before I fall in love
I'm preparing to leave her
I scare myself to death
That's why I keep on running
Before I've arrived
I can see myself coming
I just wanna feel real love
Feel the home that I live in
'Cause I've got too much life
Running through my veins, going to waste
And I need to feel
Real love
And a life ever after
I cannot give it up
I just wanna feel real love
Feel the home that I live in
'Cause I've got too much love
Running through my veins, going to waste
I just wanna feel real love
In a life ever after, there's a hole in my soul
You can see it in my face
It's a real big place
Come and hold my hand
I wanna contact the living
Not sure I understand
This road I've been given
Not sure I understand
Not sure I understand
Not sure I understand
Not sure I understand
I wanna contact the living

Just a note to state that I'm still alive :P
Life has been pretty hectic ever since I started working. Haven't found the time to update my blog.
The last 2 weekends have been pretty eventful with me going white water rafting with Jonie & gang and me performing with the other chambering pupils for the Wong & Partners' Annual Dinner.
White Water Rafting
White water rafting was great fun! It was scary at times when I fell out of the boat but as long as my team mates rescued me in time I don't really have much to complain about :)
Annual Dinner
The theme for the dinner was Oriental Night. Some of the people really took the time to rent costumes and it was quite fun to see what costumes people came up with. As for the performance it went okay I guess. We sang our own rendition of 'Stand by Me'. The lyrics were modified to reflect our chambering experience at the firm. It wasn't an outstanding performance or anything but at the end of the day I think the crowd was amused one way or another so I guess we were okay :)
I guess that is all the updates for now.
Would also like to wish everyone Selamat Hari Raya Aidiladha!

After a rather long hiatus, I finally decided to start writing again. Nothing much to update on except for the fact that I am back home for good now :)
I recently got an offer to do my pupillage at Wong & Partners and will be starting on 15th October 2008. This is the next stage...or shall I say the final stage before I qualify as a lawyer in Malaysia. Looking forward to the challenges ahead and as it is the start of my legal career I definitely plan to go all out!
As for now, I'm just taking it slow and enjoying the free time I have :) Recently completed a 1500 pieces jigsaw puzzle and now that it's done...I have to think of what I want to do next...
